Lagos Life launches on Independence Day
Lagos Life went live on 1 October 2026, Nigeria's Independence Day. It is a free life simulation played in a phone or desktop browser, set in a shared virtual version of Lagos.
Players create a character, find work, earn virtual naira, rent a place to live and hang out at recognisable Lagos spots, all in a world shared with other real players.
The creator, Nigerian developer Shalom Rayhamen, has said the idea grew out of playing The Sims 3 and out of seeing the danfo-driving browser game Lagos Run.
